One of the most popular children game is also one of the most ancient still played all around the world.
Born in Italy, as a gambling game for the reach nobles, late in the XVI century, the Gioco dell'Oca (this is the Italian original title of the game) become so popular that soon changed to a traditional "gambling" game for the whole family and today is played as a game of pure luck for children.
Traditionally, the board shows 63 spaces some of them can be dangerous, while others can help you reaching "mother goose" in the center of the board.
Although totally driven by luck, this game has an interesting mathematical structure that attracted the attention of many scholars. Thousands of different themes have been developed during the centuries, transforming the game in a sort of "parody of life", with a strong educational purpose. Not bad for a game that was born as a gambling game!
Editrice Giochi, the most important Italian game publisher asked Elena Prette and Marianna Fulvi to design a new edition of the game that had to follow the traditional design, but with a new and modern art style. A typical example of what KG Studio can do for a publisher. In this case there is no need to invent anything new, because the rule of the game are public domain, but an artistic touch is more than essential to create something unique.
The boards of the Goose Games are traditionally a sort of masterpiece and the one designed for this new edition of the game makes no exception.
